At the 14th of June, Ernesto Che Guevara would have celebrated his 75. birthday, if he did not get murdered underhandedly in October 1967 during the revolutionary fight in Bolivia. All of us would have celebrated together with him, unless he would have been busy in matters of revolution within Cuba or elsewhere in the world. On this day we think about El Che and commemorate and celebrate him to uphold the memory of a great idol in the fight against Imperialism, against war and poverty.
His life - his conviction, his vigour - give us courage. El Che has shown everyone of us how progressive visions can become reality. He showed that in the struggle for independence of Cuba, in the struggle for keeping the revolution alive and in the building of the socialist society, always side by side with other outstanding comrades.
Especially now, 14 years after the downfall of the socialist bloc, now that only a few islands of hope exist on earth still, now the example of Che Guevara is especially important to us.

"Let us be realistic. Let us try to achieve the impossible!" (Che Guevara). In his own sense, we, as one of the last organizations that remained from the GDR, we are not letting rest the fact of the annexation of the GDR by German Imperialism.
The example of El Che is and will be important to us also in the imperialist countries like the FRG. For they are preparing a new reseperation of the world, they are preparing for new big wars.
The example of El Che stays important for us during the daily struggle in the factories and at the work-place, on the streets, against the hopelessnes of capitalism. The person and the fighter El Che will always be an example to us, an example that it is worthwile to fight for a better world, to fight for socialism. He showed us that visions can be made reality and that we must never stop to fight for our rights day after day. He showed us that we must fight day after day against the most drastic robbery of the social system by the rulers of the FRG since 1945 in our country. Against the most aggressive course of war of the German Imperialists, who are ready for the third time to take into account a global conflagration just to secure their booty.

For us, the youth, the motto as well as the action can only be: Socialismo o Muerte! And Ernesto Che Guevara has lived up to this motto all his short life through, That is why he stays within our hearts, not only at his birthday.

Hasta la Victoria Siempre! Venceremos!
